Five Amazing Paranormal Stories from 2014

If you are like me then you're a human with a curious appetite for current events.  We live in an ever changing time in this world.  When anything happens, anywhere in the world, it instantaneously appears on social media with a potential to go viral.  We are connected, infused into the feeds, consuming any and all bits of information.  Especially if that information is useless and is guaranteed to lower your IQ.

None the less, this year has brought amazing paranormal stories.  From demonic possession of a family to the complete overhaul of what we thought we knew of Roswell's 1947 crash that gave us an alien autopsy film.  This is a list of Five Amazing Paranormal Stories recorded this year.

Unless you have been living under a rock on Mars, hiding from NASA's Curiosity Rover, then you've heard of the Roswell Crash of 1947.

The story goes; In July of 1947 a rancher, by the name of W.W. "Mack" Brazel, rode horses with Floyd and Loretta Proctor's son along their property to check on their sheep following a severe thunderstorm the night before. They soon came upon a field of metallic debris and a long shallow trench.  Following this incident are tales of a government cover-up and a UFO crash site containing small alien corpses.

UFO researcher Tom Carey broke the news in late November that he had proof aliens were recovered from the Roswell crash site.  He luckily stumbled upon the holy grail of this 67 year old mystery and supposedly Kodak has confirmed the film is in fact from 1947.

But wait...Haven't we been through this all before?  In 1995 we saw the official "Alien Autopsy" footage released by FOX and narrated by Jonathan Frakes (Riker from Star Trek).  Well, no, not exactly.  The British businessman, who owned the "Alien Autopsy" footage, admitted it was faked but it had been based on some "lost" film of the real autopsy he saw in 1992.

To this day Tom Carey has not released the film that proves his claims.  Until he does, we should all remain skeptical.

2:  The Black Eyed Children Return After 30 Years.

The legend of the black eyed children tells us that there are apparitions of vulnerable children who appear to be in danger or giggling to lure in their victims.  The witnesses who have attempted to help these poor souls and are brave enough to look them in the eyes are met with horror.  These children do not appear to be exactly human.  Their eyes are described as being charcoal black, no irises, no whites, just plain black.  Best of all...They want your soul.

The black eyed children seem to have returned to Staffordshire, England after 30 years.  Author and paranormal investigator, Lee Brickley, had previously posted about a story his aunt told him.  On a summer evening in 1982, when she was a teenager, she heard a girl screaming for help.  She ran toward the screams and when she found the girl she was running in the opposite direction.  She tripped and the girl stopped, turned around and looked her right in the eye.  As you might have guessed, they were completely black.  Now Brickley is investigating new claims that the children have returned.  Accounts have started to pop up and are similar, coinciding with what his aunt saw.

This legend seems to have started in 1998.  Even before Lee Brickley posted his aunts story.  Brian Bethel, a journalist from Texas, reported in an internet newsgroup that he had an encounter with two children.  He was out parked in front of a movie theater by the electric company drop off box.  He needed to pay his electric bill so he pulled out his checkbook and started to write a check.  He was interrupted by two young boys.  The younger one was silent and didn't speak during the encounter.  The older one asked if Bethel would take them home so they could get money for the movie.  When he became hesitant the boy insisted that he let them into the car.  Bethel asked which movie they were going to see and when he realized the movie was already an hour in he became even more hesitant.  Bethel finally looked the boys straight in the eye after the boy got angry that he would not let them in.  He was shocked to see that they were black eyed children and drove away.  Since then there have been numerous stories from all over the world.  Mostly they are children asking to be let into a residence but they all have the same eyes.

There have been many theories about the black eyed children.  Maybe they're aliens, possibly vampires, inter-dimensional beings, or mass hallucination perhaps.

The legend has even been linked to a murderer named Ramond Leslie Morris.  Brickley's aunt made the spooky connection years later.  During the 1960's Morris was convicted in the rape and murder of a seven year old girl and is also the suspected killer of two others (ages five and six) in Staffordshire, England.

Whoever they are, whatever they want, if you see a child who is trying to lure you in...remember to look into their eyes.

3:  Police Confirm Erie Possession in Indiana
Video via YouTube.

In November 2011 Latoya Ammons and her family moved into a house in Gary, Indiana.  It wasn't long before they started to notice small and strange occurrences around the home.  Wet footsteps would appear across the living room floor and flies would swarm the home.  Nothing could prepare Latoya for the day when she would hear her daughter screaming.  As she rushed to her bedroom she found the 12-year-old girl levitating over her bed.

Clairvoyants claimed the house was also home to 200 spirits.  Her children became possessed.  She witnessed them with bulging eyes, sporting evil smiles, growling, using deep and dark voices.  Her youngest child would play in the closet with a child no one else could see.  He was even thrown from the bathroom when no one else was around.

These and other events became known to child protective services, psychologists, and the local police department.  After it became clear that Laytoya was not neglecting or abusing her children, putting them up to these strange and odd behaviors, the activity continued.

Police officially recorded an incident, corroborated by hospital personnel, that Ammons' nine-year-old boy walked up the wall backwards, did a flip over his grandmother, landed on his feet, and sat down in a chair.

After several exorcisms on the family, including the mother, and moving the family has been rid of the evil spirits to this day.  As for the police, they were skeptical at first but they easily became believers that the home was "a portal to hell".

Zak Bagans, paranormal investigator of Travel Channel's "Ghost Adventures" swiped up the property at $35,000.  He plans to live in the house and document his experiences.

Sir David Attenborough has been exploring the world for 60 years and at 88 years old he has set his sights on the Abominable snowman.  The legendary Yeti has been the subject of myth and folklore way up in the Himalayan mountains.  An ape-like humanoid creature that is credited to numerous reported sightings since the 19th century.

Recently this year hair samples believing to belong to the yeti have been 100% genetically matched to a prehistoric polar bear-like animal.  Even if it's not a yeti it would be amazing to find this creature alive.

Ruby Graupera-Cassimiro had died after giving birth via c-section.  The Boca Raton, Florida hospital staff had tried to revive the 40-year-old for 45 minutes.  They did CPR chest compressions and even used a defibrillator without any luck.  Just as soon as they decided to call it quits her heart monitor miraculously started to show signs of life.

The rare condition is called an amniotic fluid embolism.  It's when the amniotic fluid crosses over into the mother's blood stream with the potential to cause serious and deadly clots.

She remembers a dream of her father telling her "It's not your time, you have to go back".  Later on the figured that it was not a dream.  She had experienced life after death.  When the doctor removed her breathing tube she told him "dying was nothing to be afraid of".
